The brief: 2021 Carmelite competition illustration project. Illustrate the story Moon Mouse, written by Corrinne Averiss.
My response: A mix of plant prints, gelli plate prints, digital foiling, hand drawn and digital illustrations were used to create the story images.
A mockup of my Moon Mouse illustrations in a book. I decided a professionally printed book would best show off my illustrations.
Gold foiled illustrations: I foiled one spread of my illustration with two different gold foils. I preferred the lighter, softer foil colour for my illustrations (the image on the right). Due to foiling being expensive and hugely time consuming, I did not foil my whole book. Instead I Photoshopped foil into parts of the illustrations. This worked well.
